Seminar: Boundless Visions (2011)
Public Property Management
Linda Dagli Orti
The basis of this project is a product life cycle where demand is put before production. Personal or digital direct orders are collected. If sufficient resources are available the production begins. There will not be any overproduction. Within the production, every good is linked to a production number, its own ID. There will be more public than private goods. Because of the production number, goods are easier to share.
An easy colour system informs the individual about the belongings of goods. As soon as a public item is used by an individual, the colour turns from blue to red and the user number appears. Public goods are coloured in blue if available, red if occupied. Private belongings are coloured in purple for the owner but red for everybody else. Information appears if interesting for the individual.
