Seminar: Constructed Realities (2018)
Nocturnal
Kayla Bolsinger, Florian Käser

How does a familiar place to us, which is lively and vibrant by day, appear at night time? We seem to know our immediate surroundings inside out. But what happens to our environment during deserted and solitary times? The installation “Nocturnal“ presents photographs of spaces in and around the Campus of Arts.

Our experimental work ironically points to students working late night at the HGK, but we also found it interesting to place creatures where they obviously do not belong. Next to the photographs we show quotes, which emphasise our thoughts. We used a LED „pixel stick“ to create the animal pictures. The longer you look at them, the more real it becomes!
