Seminar: Boundless Visions (2011)
Active Cataract
Stefan Cecere

One of today’s problem is that we get overwhelmed with all kinds of information we actually don’t want or don’t need. So, the solution in my eyes is to reduce this information to a minimum. I’m not only thinking about the visual information, but also about the other human senses (hearing, smell, taste and touch). Another issue might not only be the overload of information (data). We are certainly able to handle that much information, but to get the information we really need makes for the very quality of information.

By replacing our human eye lens with an Artificial Intraocular Lens we can realise a block-out system. The new lens works as an optical filter, undesired parts can be blocked out.
